Compatibility with new Red Hat OS

We are getting ready to setup a new server to move our application to and I needed to know if there were any issues with the version of Texis I have and the new operating system. I will be installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and I have Texis version 5.00.1086121238. Are they compatible?

Also, I've been running Texis version 4.03.1063225259 Sept 10, 2003 and, like I stated above, when I set up my new server I wanted to install a newer version of Texis we have. The newer version is 5.00.1086121238. Are you aware of any issues I might run into if I start using the newer version of Texis with my existing 64 bit database?

Thanks,
Linda

I'd need to see the rest of the version strings, the part that includes the platform. But in general it should work. In some cases you need to ensure you have the compatibility package installed or download needed libs from ftp://ftp.thunderstone.com/pub/linux/

Here are the version strings:

Currently running:
TEXIS version information:
Texis Web Script (Vortex) Copyright (c) 1996-2003 Thunderstone - EPI, Inc.
Commercial Version 4.03.1063225259 of Sep 10, 2003 (i686-unknown-linux2.4.9-64-32)

Newer version I want to install and use with my existing database/scripts & new Red Hat OS:
Texis Web Script (Vortex) Copyright (c) 1996-2004 Thunderstone - EPI, Inc.
Commercial Version 5.00.1086121238 20040601 (i686-unknown-linux2.4.9-64-32)

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Linda

That should be fine. You may need the compatibility package or libs mentioned above.
