full version installation problems

Post by anixyz »

we have evaluated the free version of webinator 4.2 and now purchased the full version.
I installed the free downloaded 4.2 version on our windows 2000 server. Is there any way that I could copy the licence key from the cd you provided and make this full version?
OR do I have to uninstall the free version and install the full version from CD again.
If I have to uninstall the free version could you tell me what I have to do, which files to cleanup and all?

Thank you

No need to uninstall. Just re-install over the top. Or take the license.upd file from the cd and place it into INSTALLDIR and run
INSTALLDIR/texis -update

I re-installed the full version over the top.
when I try to open the admin interface with
http://myserver/scripts/texis.exe/webinator/dowalk
I am getting the following error.
--------------------------------------------------------
Texis Web Script (Vortex) Copyright © 1996-2002 Thunderstone - EPI, Inc.
Free Webinator Version 4.02.1037992765 of Nov 22, 2002 (i686-intel-winnt-32)

Error
000 License violation: License Server Contact

Do I need to enter a license code somewhere?

Make sure the license.upd file was copied to the install directory, and run texis -update to apply that license.

Thanks! it worked. I installed it and indexed the site.
But On the search page, in the advanced options why don't I see the "search in this Format" option which shows the checkboxes for different types of pages(Web Page, Excel spreadsheet, Powerpoint, acrobat/wordfile)

Webinator searches all files. The search script could be modified to restrict by file extension.
