Informix

Post by mike145 »

We use Remedy's AR system for call centre trouble ticketing. We're in the midst of a redesign and need full text searching. Remedy's add-on product is grossly expensive and, we were thinking, we already have Webinator.

Is there a way we can create an instance of Webinator/Texis to index a field in our Remedy/Informix database? We're aiming at searching for terms within that text field and having the search return the contents of another column within the same row.

Are we crazy?

Thunderstone's Texis product is designed for the kind of application you describe. Webinator's schema is fixed but a Texis schema can be defined to suit your needs, and Texis can extract or import data from Informix.
