Is there a way to install Webinator (I have the free version) without Root
access?

Yes, with a few caveats. You have to be able to install programs
into a "CGI" configured directory. When installation asks for the web server
user id, enter your userid or nothing. If your system won't let you
make programs setuid (the installation scripts attempts to do this)
or you entered nothing for the web server user, you will have to make
the database directory and files world readable after you do a walk.
