Searching across multiple databases

Post by Thunderstone »

We have databases of resumes in text document format. Each database
represents a city from which they were collected. As it stands we have a
redirector to point to the selected city. Can I search across all the
databases at once?

Searching across multiple databases

You can switch databases and execute multiple searches, but this
technique would lack finesse. Its better to have them all in a single
table that had a "City" field . Then you could issue the proper SQL for
this application.

Your application is not appropriate for Webinator, but rather requires
a full license to Texis. A good resume application should have
many separately searchable fields within it, and the resume's should
be housed directly within the database rather than indirectly though
an HTML file.

See: http://www.vjf.com/ for a good example of a Texis Career application.
