Rank and Weight

I know this has been asked in the old Webinator board, but i cannot find any answer on this one. Is there any way to give different Weight to different feild while searching for a result. Ex title, followed by keywords followed by body??

By default fields are searched in order
Title\Description\Keywords\Meta\Body
and the index is created that way. If you want to rearrange the order you need to change the query order and make an index for that ordering similar to how the default index is made (see the dowalk script).

I understand they are searched in order but are they also ranked accordingly. Meaning a search for "home page" with 2 hits. The first hit is the home page with the word "home page" found in the title, the second is from "page 2" that has a link in the body that says "go back to the home page". Will page 1 that was hit from the title will have a higher rank then page 2 that had a hit in the body?

Yes. How much higher will be controlled by the likepleadbias setting, i.e. how important it is that the match is at the beginning of the searched text.
