Equivalence and Metamorph

Post by kzinda »

My primary word is particpant and I have an equivalence file built to mean conferee, party, or member.

When I execute the search: detect participant w/4, the metamorph will root particpant to "partition" or other non-related words.

How do I limit rooting to "particpant" yet retain use of the equivalents? I tried using a wildcard (particpant*), but it then doens't recognize the equivalents. I tried enclosing in quotes, but this is the same as without qoutes.

Morpheme processing pretty much unrelated to equiv processing. Turn off suffix processing or use an abbreviated suffix list or use a longer minwordlen.

BTW, use of quotes doesn't change fundamental processing behavior. All quotes do is bind phrase words together.

From my testing, it appears that morpheme processing is not performed on words in the equivalence list. Is that correct?

Not correct. Morpheme processing is done to all words.
