Best Group Search Settings

I'm familiarizing myself with Best Bet Groups but I think I found an issue. I have created 3 best bet groups, but in the Search options page under the two drop downs "Top Best Bet Group" and "Right Best Bet Group" I'm only seeing one group that I created to choose from. It seems the drop down list will only have one value, the best best group I created with that is last alphabetical.

Along the same topic, If I create multiple groups, am I only allowed to choose one? I want different groups to show up in the search depending on the search word I have set.

All the best bet groups should appear in the drop down lists.

You can create multiple groups to set up different results at the top and right, or if you wanted to set up a group to display in the future, and switch it on at some point. You can add multiple URLs to the same group with different keywords so you will get different URLs displayed from that group.

What should I do if all the groups don't show up in in the drop down list?

Do all the groups show up elsewhere, e.g. the groups page or the URL detail page?

All the groups show up in the "List/Edit URLs" page and the "Best Bet Groups" page, but they don't all show up on the "Search Settings" page.

If you change:

<strfmt "|%s" $id>
<$Values=$ret>
to

<strfmt "|%s" "" $id>
<substr $ret 1 -1>
<$Values=$ret>

That should work.

John, so why bother having groups? I mean, if I had a group named "top" and "right" then it all makes sense, since that is the slot where they appear. I want certain BB groups to be on top, and certain to be on right. Why can I not select multiple groups in SS for the Top and Right?

The groups let you switch out which best bets show up easily. For example if a promotion were starting then you could build a group for the promotion, switch over to it, then switch back when done.

Allowing multiple groups in the same place has the potential to be an administrative headache.
