profile settings not gettting deleted

I had a couple old profiles which I deleted via admin pages. They are no longer showing up there.Still when I create a new profile with same name as a deleted profile it says 'profile name in use'.

Does it mean my testdb tables are corrupted somehow?

Change "default" to the name of your profile.
