Cookie Source Path

Post by agarcian »

Can you explain better how to use the Cookie Source Path to bypass sites with cookie-based authentication?

What should be the value of the Cookie Source Path setting if I want to walk a site that uses authentication?

Thanks

You would have to mount a filesystem where you can place your cookie file to the appliance. See "Indexing File Servers" in the manual for instructions. Then visit the site with your browser and copy the cookie file it creates to the mounted file system. In the Cookie Source Path box you enter the full path and filename of that file in the mounted filesystem.

Another alternative is to use an http-post: url to have the search appliance log in to the server, and once it has a cookie it should proceed.
