using url's in the search

Post by jgdoke »

I talked to someone there about the setting "Search includes URL" It is not doing enough. I asked for it to be a ranking setting that I can change like "Word Ordering"
It was said you would do it and I am wondering when it will be done...

thanks

I don't know the particulars of your conversation, but as of 5.3.1 "Search includes URL" has been replaced by "Index Fields" which lets you specify which fields to index and in what order.

What I want is the ability to have the url text be ranked higher or lower than other parameters. Just like this search setting. "Word Proximity"

You can specify the order in the Index Field, combined with the Position In Text rank. The Position in Text will be the position in the set of fields in the order specified in Index Fields.
