Changing the -Defaults- profile settings

Post by rob133 »

How can I change the profile settings created when you create a new profile "as a copy of -Defaults-"? Or, if that's difficult, can I simply remove the -Defaults- option from the menu so that my own default profile appears on top?

thanks!

The copy is just a starting point. Under basic walk settings, all walk settings and search settings you can change everything.

You can change the defaults function in the dowalk script to set the defaults for your instance. Also you can search the dowalk script for "-Defaults-" to see where that option is and remove it.

Changing the -Defaults- profile settings

Sorry, I know I can change settings after I create the profile. But each time I create a new profile I want the copy to start with my own set of defaults instead of the system defaults.

Right now, the dropdown list has -Defaults- first, and then -MyDefaults- second. Which means that when I create a new profile I always have to select the 2nd one, which is easy to forget (and hard to train someone else to remember). So I either want:

1. The -Defaults- option to go away so that -MyDefaults- is the default (top) selection in the dropdown

OR

2. The -Defaults- option creates a copy with my own preset defaults.

I understand this may be one of those tweaks that is more trouble than it appears, or is worth, but thought I would ask in case...

thanks

You modify the settings and related functions to change the system defaults. But I'd go with John's suggestion to just remove -Defaults- from the list (or move it down).
