Page Ranking query

Can someone explain why Result 5 is not ramked as high as Result 1 in this list: http://decssearch.sa.edu.au/scripts/tex ... tq=&sufs=0

Result 5 has more meta data, same occurence in the title + same in the content. I would have thought that the metadata entrieds should have placed it above the others.

Thanks Henry

The first result has the query word as the first word in the title, so it will rank a little higher. You may want to use the index fields option to move keywords and description ahead of title in the list, so they will count as more important than the title.

Excuse my ignorance but where exactly is the Index fields option and how do I tweak it?

On the all walk settings page. Under Word definition. There is a stack of select boxes. Select which fields to index and in the order of importance, most important first.

I'm running version 5.02 and there is no drop down list under Word Definition only this
[\alnum\x80-\xff]{1,70}
[\alnum\x80-\xff.]{1,70}>>[.&']=[\alnum\x80-\xff.]{1,70}

Which I have never changed...Is this function only available under later versions?

It was added in 5.1.7. Upgrading would be the easiest way to go about it. It would be possible to manually edit the scripts and recreate the index, although that does require care to ensure everything is handled.
