texis.cnf and SYSMETAINDEX

Post by tony.malandain »

What is the relation between the Refresh config value in texis.cnf and the WAIT column in the SYSMETAINDEX.

It seems chkind is run every 'refresh' seconds, yet the documentation says a metamorph index is check every hour by default if no value if specified in the SYSMETAINDEX table.

Could someone clarify these settings for me please?

Thank you,
Tony

Every Refresh seconds chkind will go through the list of indexes, for each index if it has been more than WAIT seconds since that index has been checked it will be checked to see if there are more than THRESH bytes of new data.

Ok, now it makes sense.
And I'm assuming that if there are no lines in SYSMETAINDEX, the default values for WAIT and TRESH are 1hr and 1MB.

Thank you for the details.

Those are the default values for any Metamorph index not mentioned in SYSMETAINDEX.
