Yes.. We do use the singleuser mode in the read only enviroment.. I will check the texis.cnf settings and try that if the atime change doesn't help.

So it seems that the noatime was the culprit. I turned it back on and the problem went away. The servers have been rock steady since the 12th.

There is a new error in the monitor.log. Do I need be concerned with this?

Did you possibly run a texis as a different user? If so, and it is isolated not a big concern.
