page number

I have a question about the way page numbers are displayed on search result page:

right now in search only 2 pages show up on the result page when you first get the results, and as you click on "next" more page numbers show up. Is there a way to make it so that 5 pages are shown originally?

You must be using some feature, such as fast result counts, where it can only approximate the number of results and therefore pages.
