Webinator version 4 still supported?

Post by wanah »

I would like to know whether do you all still continue to support webinator version 4 since version 5.1 had been launched? It's because my company is still using that older version.

Between, can I know whether the webinator 4.0 can be configured to support indexing of PDF files? That is to say that when a user had performed a search in our company website, can those PDF files residing in our servers be included in the search too?

Version 5 of Webinator has been released for more than 3 years now, and we do not officially support version 4. While you could add PDF support to your version 4, it will not support the newer versions of PDF that have been released. You would need to upgrade to Version 5 to get support for the latest versions of PDF.

Hi John.
Thanks for your reply! Ok then can I know if were to upgrade to version 5, how much would that be? And does version 5 comes with the PDF plugin? Sorry for making so much enquires as I am still quite new to this product, hence would like to find out more about it before proposing to my company.

Maybe can you give me some pointers on how to really set up the version 5 as my company wanted those PDF and static files (eg html or Word documents) in our web server to be searchable apart from our website?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

The PDF and Word processor is an optional plugin. See the Webinator section of the site for pricing and ordering information. Or use the Contact Us page to contact sales to discuss the upgrade.
