Filesystem Results on Safari

Post by rjhertzberg »

Does anyone know if there are settings/preferences available in the Safari browser (like in Mozilla), that will allow the browser to access results found on our Network File Shares?

These results appear to the user, but they are unable to open links using the file:// protocol. Is there some workaround for the Safari browser that anyone is aware of?

Has anyone else experienced this? I've searched all over the web, but can't find a good answer. Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Russell

If they are seeing the message

The error was: “unknown error” (CFURLErrorDomain:22)

that is caused by Safari using a slightly different syntax for file: URLs than either IE or Mozilla. We would need to update the appliance to do browser detection and send the appropriate URL, which basically requires 1 fewer slashes than Mozilla.
