Permission level for database

Post by Priti Barapatre »

Hi,

we have the search db owner set as apache. we want to take back up of our searchdb. The backup team logs in using other login credential other than "apache". Can we change the permission of searchdb using chmod e.g
chmod a+r /test/db/ourdb/*.*

will it have any impact on normal functioning of texis database and search. Please advise

Thanks and Regards

No, opening perms will not affect Texis operation.
But backups usually run as root to be universally effective.
