Checking on progress for a standard (non-metamorph) index

Post by barry.marcus »

I know that to check on progress for a MM index, I know to repeatedly look at the sizes and time stamps of the files involved in the index (or the temp files). Does the same thing work for a non-metamorph index? It's been about 30 minutes since I started a rebuild of an index, and the .BTR is still at 62 bytes. I'm expecting a final size of about 200MB.

Thanks.

You can watch the process size since it builds in memory until it has to flush to disk. But the best thing is to set indexmeter before starting the build.
