upgrade from version 5.01.1154662968 to 5.01.1249359916

Hi,

we are currently using

Texis Web Script (Vortex) Copyright (c) 1996-2006 Thunderstone - EPI, Inc.
Commercial Version 5.01.1154662968 20060803 (sparc-sun-solaris2.6-64-32)

and want to upgrade to
Texis Web Script (Vortex) Copyright (c) 1996-2009 Thunderstone - EPI, Inc.
Commercial Version 5.01.1249359916 20090804 (sparc-sun-solaris2.8-64-64)

Can you please mention the steps to be taken for us to upgrade to the new version. we are using the slaris server.

Those database formats are not compatible so you kinda need to do a clean install. If you want to use your existing databases without conversion you can go back to sales and request an upgrade compatible with the version you have.

You have a couple of options. Either reload the database from scratch into the new version. Or use cpdb to copy the old to new. If using multiple machines you can install the new version then run cpdb on each according to the manual. If on the same system you'll need to keep around a copy of the old cpdb which can talk to the old database and use the new one to handle the new database. Once the tables are loaded or converted using any of these methods you'll have to recreate the indices.
