Comments in Equivalence File/Thesaurus

Post by robert.vreeland »

If I put a line in the file that has no commas in it, is that basically an undocumented way of adding comments (human-readable but not Appliance-readable content) to the file? Are there any Bad Things that happen if I do this?

====== Begin Example Thesaurus ======
# There are no commas on this line
chimpanzee, chimp, ape, simian, primate, bonzo
======= End Example Thesaurus =======

Thanks,
Rob

No, they will not be treated as comments. The equals sign is an operator in the thesaurus file, so the syntax above would yield an error.

Also even if there are no operators on a line it will recognize the line as a phrase to be recognized in the users query.
