Crawl Hanging

Post by kiddywood »

Hi Mark,

I can't see anything in event viewer.

The PID existed as a process then disappeared.

Within the folder there are now about 190 cuurls files with different PID numbers and the same number of Anytox files.

In the Vortex.log there are hundreds of entries that say "trying to insert duplicate value" for different URL's.

The walk is just hanging but indexing 1 or 2 URL's every half hour.

I updated the scripts very recently.

Try a new profile. Stop the walk on that profile and make sure any related processes are stopped. Then create a new profile as a copy of the problem one and run the walk in the new profile.

You previously said you moved to a new server. How did you go about that? Did you rerun the install or hand copy or what? What OS and version are the old and new servers?

And you said you updated scripts recently but didn't give the version you're running. Please provide that.

I will try your suggestion and report back.

Moving to the new server I rerun the install from scratch. The old server was Windows 2003 and I'm now on Windows 2008.
I reinstalled again yesterday and there was an error message at the end (not sure if this relevant) that said about the file cacls.exe and not being able to write to tmp.

These are the scripts I'm using now - Webinator 6.1.5
