which binary should I download?

Post by Thunderstone »

1) Which webinator binary should I download to run on a Sun OS 5.6 system.

2) Can I install the webinator from my local directory and upload it to the
server. My operating OS is NT4.0 sp3 workstation, the ISP that I wish to
run the search engine on operates on the Sun OS 5.6

3) Suggestions on how this can be handled would be appreciated

The web site states "SunOS versions later than 4.x are called Solaris by Sun"
so you would want Solaris. Then you need to know if it's a SPARC or Intel
CPU. It's most likely SPARC.

That might work if both operating systems were the same and installation
paths were the same, but we don't provide support for that operation. It
definitely won't work across NT and Unix.

If you don't have a telnet (shell) account, you might have the ISP
install Webinator for you. Otherwise you can use the free service where
we maintain it for you:
