I'll have to start with the disclaimer that Webinator was built on BSDI
and has not been tested on FreeBSD, although we have been told it works
by other users. You must have gotten it into some odd state where it's
trying to do something that FreeBSD doesn't support. It's hard to guess
what that might be.
Remove the entire database with:
rm -rf db
Recreate it with:
gw -create
Then try using -L while walking to prevent name lookups on the various
bad hostnames on the site being walked.
If it still crashes, try using -v9 to get more info about what it
is trying to do when it does.

Ranked searches don't work without an index.
