Setting Up Open Directory Using Webinator

Post by sspringett »

Ok, so I've just downloaded the free version of Webinator to check it out. I grabbed the sources for the open directory project, and have successfully installed them. The script seems to be working just great.

But where's the data. How do I use the RDF files from dmoz with this script. I know there must be some kind of conversion I need to do, but how do you do it.

I've noticed that master.com offers the ODP data which integrates into an existing site. This won't work for me as my site is running SSL, and is not public in any way.

Which brings me back to the RDF files. Any ideas? Anyone?

Webinator is a vertical application of Texis for indexing existing websites. You need a full Texis license for what you want to do. Thunderstone sells premade scripts for importing the dmoz data into Texis if you can't or don't want to do it yourself.
