anytotx and temporary directories

Post by neil.munro »

Hi,
I notice that when running anytotx to convert files, that it wants to get access to tempory directories on /var/tmp/....
I assume this is where it does its work..maybe...
Well my questions are:
1. Where can I change the location of this temporary dump file.
2. Sometimes it says (for example):
002 Can't open PDF work file /var/tmp/cvtiAAA_haacs for reading: No such file or directory
- Well it was the one to create it in the first place, so how could it forget about it? or how can I create it when it asks for a different directory each time?

So would anyone be able to provide more information of how anytotx works and what it requires as well as side effects to the system...

Thanks and Merry Christmas..

anytotx and temporary directories

That unfortunate message is a side effect of the genuine Adobe libs we used to use to convert PDF's. It basically means that the Adobe lib was unable to process the file, usually because it was truncated by max page size during download. It can also be caused by PDF files that use newer features that the older Adobe libraries don't understand. The latest version of Texis and Webinator have a new anytotx that handles the latest Adobe formats better.
