Extra download required for Webinator with Texis?

If I have full Texis, are there any extra downloads required to get unlimited page Webinator version 4 running? With my present installation not all the files for webinator were installed.

For some mysterious reason the NT distribution of full Texis still includes webinator 2 scripts instead of webinator 4. You can download the Webinator 4 scripts from the website (http://www.thunderstone.com/texis/site/ ... ample.html) and place them into your DOCUMENT_ROOT\webinator directory.

Once downloaded, access the admin interface with something like

How long should running the admin interface with dowalk be expected to take? At the moment, when I enter http://localhost/scripts/texis.exe/webinator/dowalk I get a CGI timeout error. The directory now also contains dowalk.vtc, so I guess something is happening.

Fixed!

I had given IUSR permission to write but not modify so I guess this caused the crash.

Is it possible to specify the user webinator runs as?

I know get the following message after entering the admin password for the first time. The text appears after the 'creating tables' message; the rest of the screen seem normal. Can I specify the use of a different DB folder to testdb, which currently contains the example 'patents' database. Is this where the problem lies?

Your special license precludes making new tables in an existing database, but the default database in the Texis dist. does not have the Webinator tables. So, yes, you can change the "default" database by editing the file "texis.cnf" in installation directory. In the "[Texis]" section add a line like
Default Database = c:\webinatorglobal
If you don't have a texis.cnf create one with the following contents

[Texis]
Default Database = c:\webinatorglobal

You may specify a different drive and subdirectory for the database if you wish.

After creating or editing the texis.cnf run
INSTALLDIR\monitor -k
to kill the Texis monitor.
Texis will automatically create the database with the appropriate tables the next time dowalk is run.

Sorry to bug you guys like this, but I have a tight deadline.

I took the steps as above and with a bit of messing I now have a normal looking login. However, when I click on a profile name, the Basic Walk settings screen appears but is completely empty.

I guess you are all just getting out of bed over there, so I will go and work on it myself until then. Is it possible that the dowalk script is somehow looking in the wrong place?

If I download the free version of Webinator and then replace those three scripts by the example scripts will that do the job?

Not likely. More likely just to cause more confusion. View the source of the "empty" page and look for error messages in HTML comments that may point to the problem.

The HTML looks fine to me; or rather, it seems to be correct for what appears on the screen, ie the nav bar and title.

I found this in the log though; could it be the prob?
