Getting rid of copy.gif

Post by niklaus.haldimann »

Hi there

We use Webinator 4 Commercial Version.

I don't personally care but one of our customers doesn't want the copy.gif ("Texis & Webinator Copyright" etc.) to display at the bottom of the search results (that is actually the reason why they bought the commercial version).

copy.gif doesn't seem to exist in the file system and I haven't found corresponding HTML code in the search vortex script or anywhere else. Is there a possibility to get rid of it?

Thanks & cheers,
Nik

You actually need either the Professional or Enterprise version to remove the copyright at the bottom. In the table at http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator the line "Visible Copyright & Title Insertion" is the one to look at.

thanks for the quick answer, john.

i think we've got a problem then. ;) i don't think the customer is willing to pay the bucks for the pro version. and it isn't really necessary, too, since we're way below the page and hit limits of the commercial version.

are we violating the license of the commercial version if we try some sort of hack? i'm thinking about mapping an invisible gif on the copy.gif.

Yes, that would be a violation.
