I am hosting the teacherjobs.com site and believe I found what I was looking
for here, but these questions lingre.
Our purpose is to make teacherjobs more than a job bank ...so we would like
to be able to index as many educational sites as we can ...(okay we want to
be like an educational yahoo) We understand yahoo is a little different, as
they are a "directory". We just want to provide content in a way as to
categorize, as many sites like yahoo and alta-vista do and to just offer a
good search facility.<yeah I'm new at search stuff>
Can I do this with webinator? <sounds like almost anything is possible after
reading the archives, I just don't seem to understand it all. ...yet.
If this is possible ..can I somehow aquire a script or what ever is needed
to search for educational sites?
Honestly I tried this product and it worked good on our site ..just ran a
basic command line like this gw htttp://www.teacherjobs.com/main_index.htm

Then I pointed it to yahoos education index <yeah I know that was jumping
into the fire>. After thinking awhile I began to wonder if that was okay, or
in violation. I apologize if that was not the intent of this product or if I
offended them ..it did find a robots.txt ..isn't that safe? The data is for
test only and I am not live with this product yet ..I will more than likely
wipe the DB when I figure out how best to index educational sites.
