MS Word doc search problem

Post by ryan.dorosh »

Mark, the doc files don't get listed in the output that -v9 gives. All other files in that folder do get listed.....confusing. I assume it's only looking at the file extension correct? There is nothing out of the ordinary with these MS Word files. This is running on IIS4, on NT Server 4.

I did find one thing interesting in the output. What does this mean to you...the last three or four lines....

Option: "-msiteoptions.set"
Option: "-napplication/pdf,pdf,pdftotx"
Option: "-napplication/msword,doc,pdftotx -fmsw"
Option: "-z1500000"
Option: "-v9"
No database specified. Use the default (c:/cpb_web/website_live/webinator/db)?
(y/n) default is y : You may use "-d-" to skip this question in the future.

Ignore that. it's for dns cache and only shows because the verbosity is high. It's not a problem.

Look for where it's processing links from the page with the hrefs to the doc files. It should list the links and what it thinks about them.

If it doesn't list the doc files as links on the page, whether if follows them or not, they are not there or are improperly coded.

If the links are there in the browser please supply the url or, if it's not public, place the page on our ftp server

Don't want the doc files at all. I've never suggested that there is a problem with the doc files. The problem would be with the HTML file linking to the doc files. That's what we need to see, and what you need focus on when looking at the gw output. It would also help if you uploaded the gw output generated by -v9.
