rewalk interrupted

Post by Thunderstone »

I telnet-ed into my server and was performing a rewalk. In the
middle of it, the telnet connection dropped.

Logging back in, I noticed I had a new subdirectory in the "webinator"
directory called _mydb (where "mydb" is the value I give to the -d option.)

To recover, is it OK to just delete _mydb and redo the rewalk? Or is my
situation more precarious than this?

As long as the rewalk is not running, you may delete _mydb and restart.
The original database is intact. -rewalk walks to a new database then
replaces the original when it finishes successfully.
