Dated returns

Post by Thunderstone »

We're installing Webinator on an online paper, so the date of the
returned URLs is important.

Is it possible to control what date order the files are returned in
(latest first, etc)?

Is it possible to have the date of each file listed on the results page?

Thanks,
Chris Bridges

Dated returns

The current Webinator stores the date that the Url was inserted in the
database, which may not help unless the walk occurs in the order you
want.

With next release of the Webinator, which should occur in the near future
you would be able to store the last modified time that the web server
reports as the date, or even extract the date from the text that is
returned, and you would then be able to order by that.

You can also display that date on your results page.

You can modify the SQL search in the user interface to select those
fields you are interested in, and add clauses to the query, such as
additional search restrictions and orderings.

You should check out the manuals on our website for other ideas of
what can be done with Texis.
