I have been runnning webinator for years and for some reason today I am getting an error:
cannot contact license server. I have not changed anything on my end in the past week. I was reading past posts and came across something about port 80. Where in the script is webinator looking for port:80?

I am running Linux/ Apache setup
I am running WWW Site Indexer Version 2.53 (FREE)
Release: 19990325

The Url to my issue is:
http:http://www.silverplatter.com/cgi-bin/texis/search/usa5/

Doh...I just tried it again and it worked no problem. Well, any reason why it could have temporarily been down?

So I understand GW needs port 80, but if my network security guys have not allowed me to use that port on the proxy server, is there anything I can do?

Free webinator must have direct access to ls.thunderstone.com on port 80. There's no way around that except to purchase the commercial version.

For your actual walking you may access sites on any port and/or via proxy.

Just for clarity, does port80 always need to be available, or is it just necessary during first activation?

Does it have to be available just for gw, or to run users searches as well?

I wanted to verify that once you have purchased webinator, the application does not require Internet access. Only the free version. Is this valid?
