With the imminent (well sort of) demise of the Alpha chip, will Thunderstone consider a swap of the existing Tru 64 Texis licenses to another Unix OS?
thanks

I'm not sure that the demise of the Alpha chip is quite that imminent, Compaq is still releasing new Alpha based servers, and claims that Tru64 will be supported on the Intel Itanium. Thunderstone has a very reasonable additional platform fee, which should make a transition relatively easy.

Hi John
Can I get a quote for Linux then? Once the IA64 platform is available, will the Texis linux version work on 64-bit versions of linux running on the new processor or would I need another platform license?
Can you send the quote directly to
virdee@unhcr.ch?
Did you see our site running on Texis yet (
www.unhcr.ch)? All the menus and pages are dynamically driven similar to Vignette implemenations using tickle. Has anyone else done a completely Texis/Vortex driven site? On the big sites, I only see people using the search engine. You probably can't be bothered, but we're so pleased with it, we thought we should share it with you anyhow!
many thanks

The Linux version only runs on Intel x86 CPUs. If/when we support IA64 it would require an additional platform license. For sales quotes please open a ticket at
http://www.thunderstone.com/texis/site/ ... ct_Us.html
Besides our own, we've heard of a couple of other sites using Texis to drive the pages.

I finally got a chance to completely view your site.
It's great.
