General Questions
Hi,
We are trying to use webinator to search 20-30 Web server which
contain inforation on various European libraries. Overall it does an
excellent job (after some initial fiddling!).
We hav one MAJOR problem (for us) and that is the use of diacritics in
the search term. That is, how do we search for words which contain
letters outside the US/UK alphabet (e.g. accents etc)?
We have tried using the ESC sequence to get the correct letter visible
in the search, we have tried substituing the letter with the HTML
code. All to no avail! What's worse is that letters that are coded by
an html code (e.g. Ö) show the code rather than the letter, and
words which code the letter are an ESC sequence show a blank space!
Am I missing something, or is this a bug/feature/know problem etc etc?
Thanks in advance,
Glynn Robinson

Dear Pau
I do not know why or how I received your email. I am a Webinator user, like
yourself, and not on their staff. Can you tell me how I got on the address
for this email, so I can get myself removed? Thanks.

I have recently installed Webinator in my MIIS server, under NT 3.51.
I can't execute c://http:my.web.name/scripts/webinator.exe. The only
way I am able to call webinator.exe is creating a form, a using the
POST method. The consequence of this is that when search results
are displayed, I can't use the 'View context', 'more like this',
'show linkage' buttons nor the 'Hits x-x' option. The message
'contacting my.web.name...' appears and it never ends.
I think all is well-configured. IIS Manager knows that 'scripts' is
indeed the directory for scripts (and 'Execute' option is enabled, so
that scripts in this directory can be executed).
I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
