Module timeout

Post by source1Tamer »

Hi,
I'm getting the "CGI Timeout" error, while processing a module that's spending long time to run...
I tried the <TIMEOUT> directive but it's refusing it inside the module.. I tried to use the <vxcp timeout -1>
or <vxcp timeout 600> in the entry function but it's still failing...
any suggestions??

There can be only one overall script timeout, so as a directive it's only settable in the main script. If you're using <vxcp timeout>, make sure your Vortex version is Jan. 5 2000 or later.

Where exactly are you seeing the "CGI timeout" error: in your web server's error log, or the vortex.log? If the former, you need to increase your web server's idea of its CGI timeout, which is beyond Vortex's control. Many web servers have a generic timeout for all CGI programs (such as Vortex) after which they will terminate the process.

This question was about Texis Webscript (Vortex), not Webinator. Please post questions to the appropriate group in the future.
