Getting pages into the database

Post by Thunderstone »

Often when I want to re-index a revised URL with a command similar to the following:

./bin/gw -Force -D2 -o http://science.holycross.edu/webteachin ... ticles.htm

the pages don't seem to make it into the database. That is, when I then go and try using Webinator to search for keywords that should be in the newly-indexed pages, the pages don't show up in the search results. Do I need to do something in addition to the above command when I add revised pages (updates of pages that are already in the database). Do I need to wipe the database and re-index everything?

Thanks.

That should work. gw should list the url(s) it's fetching as it goes.
Then perform an index update at the end of the process.
If it doesn't show your url, turn up verbosity to see why. Try -v4 or -v9 .
