Indexing

Post by info227 »

I recently did an install (Feb, 2002) and then ran a walk with over 7,000 URLs...

It seems that my keyword searches are now very slow...

Perhaps I did something wrong in the recent install I did, since it was over an old install of 2.*, and on top of an earlier webinator4, but I thought it might be an indexing problem, since the searches still work, they're just very slow...

But then, so is accessing the dowalk admin page...very slow...like it's a dns issue - yet the rest of my server runs like the wind...

The thing is, despite the online manual for texis, webinator and vortex, the new dowalk admin page does not have an index feature as far as I can tell. So how does one index without it?

Thx,

Jim

I just tried your search. It seems to come up as fast as any other page on your site. If you still see slowness you might check the source of the resulting page for error messages within HTML comments. Also check the vortex.log and monitor.log files in INSTALLDIR/texis.

Webinator 4 always indexes. There's no way to not index.
