Walk Errors

Post by jay.upchurch »

I'm seeing a few instances of the following error when I view the list of urls indexed. Can someone please tell me what might have caused the error?

http://www.foo.com/ (Error translating. Plugin disabled ( -fother) )

In this case, the home domain being indexed is http://www.foobar.com. In the walk settings, http://www.foo.com is listed in the extra domains list.

This group is for installation questions. This message should have been posted under Webinator instead. Please use an appropriate group next time.

Apparently that page returns a non-html and non-text mime type that requires the wordprocessor plugin to process. You apparently haven't purchased the plugin so you can't walk that page.

When viewing the page properties I see a "File MIME Type" of "text/html". This MIME type should not require a plugin, should it? Furthermore, when I view the html for the page I see '<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">'.

I apologize for posting to the installation group. Is there a way for you to re-categorize the thread?

The browser shows processed end data. And some webservers are browser sensitive. To see what the webserver is originally sending to webinator use the geturl function in dowalk
texis profile=YOURPROFILE top=http://www.foo.com/ dowalk/geturl.txt
or the geturl utility
geturl http://www.foo.com/

No, the thread can't be moved. Just remember for new threads.

Had this error: Server error: http://xxx.cfm returned code 500 (Internal Server Error)

Had this error: Error translating. Plugin disabled ( -fmsw)

Could you enlighten me what does this error means?

There are two separate unrelated errors. The "code 500 (Internal Server Error)" was returned by the web server you were crawling, and apparently it had a problem with that particular URL. That is not a Webinator problem, but a problem with the ColdFusion on the site.

The "Plugin disabled" message indicates that you have not licensed the PDF and word processor plugin.
