Limit to number of fields in table?

Post by jkj2001 »

I've got someone who wants to create a 113(!) column table in Texis. Other than telling him this is really bad database design, are there any limits in Texis which would prevent this from working?

I know there used to be a 50 field limit, if memory serves, don't know if it's still there, or if there are other technical reasons you can give me to pass along to this gent for paring down his field list.

Our texis version is 3.01.992447526. Thanks!

Limit to number of fields in table?

Thanks for the info. Just so I'm clear, are you saying that a "select *" statement will retrieve a max of 100 columns?

Also, do you know what the limits are in creating a virtual field-- in terms of the number of fields you can put in there, character limit, etc? If memory serves, there's a limit to how long the virtual field "name" can be.

Thanks again
