Monitor Service

Please help. I am unable to get my Texis Monitor service to start. I get the following message:

"Could not start the Texis Monitor service on Local Computer

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

I am running Webinator 4.0 Free version on Windows 2000 Server and IIS 5.0

look in INSTALLDIR\texis\monitor.log for errors.

There are no errors in the monitor.log. It says:
"Texis Monitor version 04.00.1022179495 starting."

Everything else looks good. Also, could this error be what is causing me to get an error on trying to create my initial Walk profile. I keep getting the error
"Data space c:\program files\Thunderstone Software\Webinator\texis\default could not be created: File exists."

I have checked, there is no such file and I can't proceed any farther.

Any help would be much appreciated. This is my first encounter with this software and I would really like to try it out.

That would be a directory (ie folder), not a file. Try making that folder by hand and trying again.

Thanks Mark,

That got me past creating the initial walk profile. I still can't get my monitor service to start and I am not getting any errors in my logs. I think that is why I am now getting an "Site not submitted for walking yet" error.

Have you clicked "go" from the settings page yet?
If so, make sure the dataspace directory you created is writable by the webserver user.
