We have mirrored a Texis install to a new development server, however it doesn't run:

Do I have to run the install? I tried "texis -update", which I had seen in another similar message, but no luck.

You didn't install the license which the install procedure would do for you. Assuming that you have purchased sufficient license for multiple servers copy the license.upd file from your distribution media to your install directory then run texis -update . Also make sure you have all of the perms correct in the install directory, including the setuid bit for the appropriate executables. If you can't figure out the correct perms from your other machine, just run the install instead.
