I am a webmaster at the Joint Analysis Center, a military organization.
We have both a internal (Intranet) and external (Intelink) web servers.
I would like to use Webinator on both of our systems, but I noticed that
the registration page mentions that I must have access to the Internet
to install Webinator. My question is what do I need to do (if possible)
to be able to run Webinator (Free Version) on my servers? I really like
your product and all of the different reports that it provides (Very
Very useful for our site). Is there a way for me to install it without
a internet connection? (Please say yes!)
Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully reply to my e-mail.
You need to purchase the commercial Webinator to run it on an intranet.
See the Webinator page for pricing and version descriptions. http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator/
1) Does the Webinator software need to be installed on the server where the
site is located or can it be installed remotely to index a site outside of it?
Webinator will index any webserver it can access. Not just the one it's
running on. Just give it the Urll to index.
Webinator is available for Windows NT. That version will run on Windows 95.
There is no Macintosh version. All available versions are listed on
the initial download page at http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator/
