How large can a texis table be?

Post by jkj2001 »

We've got a client who wants us to put up a 10 TB database for them to search against. The largest we've ever done with texis is 100GB. We're using your Unix version of texis, about a year old, on Sun Solaris boxes.

Do you folks have an upper limit for table sizes? 10 TB sounds ridiculous to my ears, even when you put hardware considerations aside for a moment. How do your large clients handle situations like this, in general?

Thanks for the advice.

We do not limit the table size, it will be controlled by the size of file the operating system allows, and available hardware.

There is not a general way of handling such large database, and it would require some more understanding as to exactly what is required to make sure the solution is appropriate.
