Webinator install failure

The last time I tried to install Webinator was 4 or 5 years ago. At that time the inability to write to the machine root was the problem. I had to give up.

The problem reappeared in the latest Webinator 5.1.

The /usr/local/morph3 is unwritable on virtual account machines. Pointing to a temp directory I created in my account root appeared to work for extracting the files.

The ./install questions about the location of the cgi-bin and the prefix problem http://domain.com/cgi-bin
seem to be insurmountable.

The install is creating a directory in the cgi-bin directory that is write protected and the vortex question fails.

It seems like to me that if I don't get this evaluation install working....there can't be any paydays for Thunderstone. I work volunteer but don't have much time nor training to discover stuff that should be addressed in a faq somewhere.

HELP!

Webinator install failure

You have to be able to install CGI programs *somewhere* to use webinator. Your virtual account should have a directory that you can write to for cgi. You may also need to add a .cgi extension such. It all depends on your particular ISP. Find out how they support cgi. Tell the install to put texis in the appropriate CGI directory with any extra needed extension. Then tell the install the proper url to access that directory.
