User enters 9300-RADES installation
No results.
I tested: 9300-RADES (36 matches)
I looked at one of the results and used word from on of them: 9300-RADES modem (30 matches)

But if I enter a word that is not on any of the matches: 9300-RADES installation
or
9300-RADES cat
I get Zero returns.

I am sure it is a setting I have but do not know which.

If you search for a word that does not occur you will not get any results. How did you want it to behave?

I want it to return results based on the OTHER words. in this case 9300-rades. Have the search be an OR instead of an AND

Enable the @ Operator under search settings and use
word1 word2 word3 @0
or use
(word1,word2,word3)
(no spaces around commas)

Not understanding what you mean by word1 word2 word3 @0 or (word1,word2,word3) Are you expecting the customer to enter this in the query??

Your help guide on this subject is speaking your internal language. Not one that I can translate into: what does this mean to me?.

If on, allow use of the @ (intersections) operator in queries. Queries with few or no intersections (eg. @0) may be slower, as they can generate a copious number of hits.

With the appliance there's currently no way to do an OR search without typing something different in the query. The simplest is to add " @0" to the query. Using @0 requires the search setting "Allow the @ Operator" to be on.

The underlying ranker can be told not to require all search terms but there's no way to turn that on in the appliance. Making that available is something that's expected to be done in the not too distant future but I don't have any definite time frame right now.
