We are about to implement Thunderstone search on our company website. I need to ask about multiple index searching. Can you maintain several profiles, each updated on a different schedule, then conduct a search over all index databases simultaneoulsy? Thanks.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any info on it.

Yes, with the Search Appliance you can.

... by using the metasearch feature. Create a new profile as "copy of metasearch defaults".

We are using the search appliance.
I tried to create a metasearch profile and it doesn't appear to work properly. I want to combine profiles from the same machine.
I created a profile named 'comprehensive'
For Host IP or Name I entered 127.0.0.1
for Profile Name I entered www (which does exist on the machine and contains about 80k pages)
When I search using the metasearch for terms that return results with www, I get nothing found.
Any ideas?

Did you set the "Visible" flag on the www profile so it is accessible? Also on the Maintenance/System Wide Settings make sure that 127.0.0.1 is a Cluster Member.

John,
I just double checked, and yes the visible flag is set to yes and 127.0.0.1 is one of the two cluster memebers in the Maintenance/System Wide Settings.

Sorry, just double checking. That's the Visible flag on the www profile (not the meta profile) under search settings?

If that isn't the issue you can contact our tech support as it sounds as if more detailed debugging will be needed.

Mark,
Thanks, that did it. I was looking at the meta profile, not the www.
