"Data From Field" not working

The details page link for the "Data From Field" help is empty so I'll ask here. I have a web site that serves pages using two methods, the url contains one or the other of the following:

viewer?targetFolder
portalviewer?fromPortal&targetFolder

I want to change any indexed links containing the first one to the second one. I tried putting the first in the Search field and the second in the Replace field then choosing URL in the Field field.

it doesn't look like it works, is this the correct method to handle this?

The "Which Field" drop down specifies which field to fill the data into. Currently URL is not supported as a destination. It is supported as a source, for example where a date may be encoded in the URL.
