Category searches are slow

For some reason, I get a timeout if I search for "email" in a category, but comes right back on whole collection. any ideas?

Email probably occurs on most every page so the category search is effectively going linear.

What version of scripts? If you have at least 5.1.21 you can check "Fast result counts" on search settings to speed things up.

That might have helped, I put the new dowalk and it gave me the new setting. Do I have to restart my walks after I drop in my new dowalk script?

Any walk running when the script is replaced will continue to use the old dowalk script. Subsequent walks or new walk children of a running walk will use the new dowalk automatically.
